• While I respect not going with obvious artists, opening the season of a show with a lead named Shadow Moon with a song called “I Cast a Lonesome Shadow” is a bit eye-roll-inducing. Better music cues in the diner: “The Fool” as we first get there and “Everybody Walkin’ This Land” during the massacre.
“We just pushed each other because we saw each other so often saying ‘Dude, the conference didn’t get a medal last year, let’s get one this year. Let’s get this medal for the conference,’” Noonan said. “We didn’t have any last year, but we came out with two this year. That’s obviously an improvement. That’s good in my eyes.”
The one dynamic component that could still use some attention from the engineers is in the brake tuning. The pedal never had that "I’m a track car, stand on me with confidence" feel, instead evincing a dead spot in the initial travel and a generally spongy response. Both the Jarama circuit and the nearby rally roads are taxing venues for brakes, and while what we felt could have been the residual effects from repeated abuse, we can’t say for sure because we never got in a fresh car. That said, the brakes never gave up, and there wasn’t so much as a single pucker moment.
A better idea would be to build a vacuum canon instead. Yes they do take longer to prepare for fire, but they are easy to build, and won’t turn into a grenade if you screw up. A 1-4 inch PVC pipe, a good vacuum pump, some aluminium foil for the ends, an appropriate quick release hose attachment, and a properly sized projectile.
Upstream of the three valves, the integral exhaust manifold joins the two inner cylinders in one branch and the two outer cylinders in another. This arrangement facilitates scavenging—the flow from one cylinder helping draw exhaust out of the other cylinder sharing that branch. Mazda’s exhaust plumbing is quite effective at maximizing output while minimizing turbo lag. Throttle response is satisfyingly instant, even from a stop.
Look up the next time you walk in the main doors of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Your movements will dictate how 18 giant, pastel-colored flowers above you behave. And you’ll be one of the first in the U.S. to control the art. The installation, “Meadow,” is by Studio Drift, an Amsterdam-based collective that interweaves biology, design, art and technology. The flowers will greet visitors for the next year. Studio Drift founders Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta and their team developed a large-scale sculpture like “Meadow” for the first time in 2016 in Prague. Newfields commissioned “Meadow,” the first iteration of the installation in the U.S., Gordijn said. The artists designed it specifically for the Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion.
The forks and shock have built-in stroke sensors that provide real-time stroke speed and compression information. The sensor coils provide input to the KECS ECU every millisecond. This is complemented by information provided by the IMU (acceleration/deceleration) every 10 milliseconds, and the FI ECU (vehicle speed) every 10 milliseconds. The KECS ECU then directs current to the solenoids to adjust damping as required by the situation. This results in quick reaction time to road conditions and maintains a natural feeling that is crucial to the ride feeling at one with the motorcycle.
A 2018 Stanford study found that nearly a third of consumers have purchased an extended warranty. Many overpay because they overestimate the likelihood of needing a repair during the lifetime of the warranty. But vehicles, unlike household products or electronic devices, are put through more extreme conditions. This is especially true if you live in a snowy area or enjoy activities like off-roading.
However, it quickly fizzled on both ends at the start of the third quarter. Nanticoke has five turnovers and five points in the first five minutes.
An additional tool DeWalt is bringing to the battle to stop dust is its new Universal Dust Extractor (DWH161) and SDS Dust Extraction Tube Kit (DWH200D). The Universal Dust Extractor is an OSHA Table 1-compliant vacuum that is battery powered and can be used with a number of concrete tools including rotary hammers and hammer drills, as well as drywall cutout tools, sanders, routers and jigsaws.
